Many times the annual free agency frenzy is more impactful on an NFL’s team’s Super Bowl chances than the NFL Draft and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders believes that one team has already secured a Lombardi Trophy with their moves.
Taking to X on Tuesday, Coach Prime declared that the Baltimore Ravens’ signing of star running back Derrick Henry means that Super Bowl LIX is already wrapped up. He believes that the NBA would have blocked a move of similar magnitude.
“@KingHenry_2 with the @Ravens & @Lj_era8 Lord have mercy on the rest of the league because it’s a rap!!! The @NBA would’ve Blocked this move. WOW! This is epic but I hate the way we’ve allowed the RB position to be devalued. #CoachPrime,” Sanders wrote.
Naturally there was a ton of pushback from fans of other NFL teams, with many believing that his signing does nothing at all for the Ravens’ playoff hopes.
Henry represents perhaps the best running back that the Ravens have had since drafting Lamar Jackson over five years ago. He’s coming off his sixth straight season with over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and double-digit touchdowns.
Henry has led the NFL in carried four times in the last five years and has led the league in rushing twice.
The Ravens are already one of the best rushing teams in the NFL and Henry can only make it better if he stays healthy.
One thing seems certain: The Ravens’ run-pass option with Jackson and Henry is going to be wild.
