ESPN predicts frustrating star running back Breece Hall could be a trade candidate this upcoming offseason. According to the source, after a frustrating season, the New York Jets might continue to clean shop and trade the uprising star. The Jets are no longer in the position to be a postseason contender anytime and since news is breaking out that the team will likely move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it might not make sense to keep most stars. Hall isn’t the only name that has been in mentions of rumors but wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams are also a part of the discussion.
Last year’s free agency market for running backs was terrible for teams but this one could shape up to be best as Hall might become available. Originally selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Iowa State product played in just seven games as a rookie before tearing his ACL keeping him out of competition for the rest of that campaign. However, he came back with a promising start, recording 209 carries for 876 yards and five touchdowns after missing just one matchup this 2024 campaign.
Since firing head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas, it’s clear the relationship in the organization isn’t there anymore so they might as well start from scratch. With Breece Hall possibly being a trade candidate, he should have a heavy interest market.

Next Possible Teams
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for another postseason with strong running backs after signing Kareem Hunt this past season to help Patrick Mahomes in the backfield after Isiah Pacheco‘s injury. However, the Chiefs must understand that Hunt isn’t getting any younger and while Hall isn’t proven as a healthy piece, he could be an effective No. 2 running back. Hall going from one of the worst organizations to a winning roster can be a game-changer in his career.
Los Angeles Chargers
Nobody in this entire league loves running the football more than Jim Harbaugh. Hall is still young in his NFL career and has a lot of gas for numerous, so he might be able to fulfill his desire to win ballgames in the red zone. Despite signing Ezekiel Elliott to the practice squad, the team still needs some type of longevity blueprint for their backfield. Gus Edwards is looking like a journeyman again but J.K. Dobbins could still be their No. 1 option. Nobody is taking Dobbins’ spot as long as he’s healthy but Hall’s presence could provide the team with two lightning’s in a bottle to help boost the momentum for Justin Herbert’s offense.
Baltimore Ravens
While the Baltimore Ravens have one of the best runners in the league after signing Derrick Henry, they still need some reliable depth. Keaton Mitchell has yet to prove to the entire team he could move the chains so they might have to make a blockbuster trade happen. In comparison to Henry, Hall has a lot more speed than size so perhaps they could use Hall to gain easy yards while Henry takes care of the redzone running down like a bulldozer.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are heading into another offseason with a possible rebuild so they might to find a new running back while exploring options at the receiving option. With Chuba Hubbard on a new contract, Miles Sanders will likely join a new team in a trade and while they wait for Jonathon Brooks to come back, they could trade for Hall. Carolina should put quarterback Bryce Young in the best position if they have faith in him by running the football with these two potential speedster duos.
