After providing one of the NFL’s most historical offenses, Todd Monken is being requested to interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After being requested to interview with the Chicago Bears on Monday, the Jacksonville Jaguars have also sent in their request to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

While the Jaguars are on the search for a new head coach after firing Doug Pederson, it comes with its own set of antics. Owner Shad Khan, while firing Pederson, did not part ways with general manager Trent Baalke. And when Khan was asked if they’ll be getting rid of Baalke, Khan said the only way to do so would be by a prospective head coach giving Khan a credible reason while Baalke is in attendance.

Strictly on football, bringing Monken in to help give quarterback Trevor Lawrence development before it’s too late (it’s getting close, sadly) would be a wise move for the Jaguars. They have a reasonably talented offensive roster Monken can improve.
But that isn’t the total picture. Monken would have to navigate a partnership with Baalke and deliver rapid results for the club. He’d have to deal with the overseas games that are sure to be a frustration. And overhauling a team with immense pressure may be enough to detract him from the opportunity for a better one — if he even wants to be a head coach in the NFL once more.
