When you think the Baltimore Ravens, you think two things: defense and running the football.
The Ravens got away from one of those things on Sunday and John Harbaugh was asked about it after the loss. Telling reporters, the lack of rushing attempts had to do with the type of game they found themselves in.
Asked about the lack of rushing attempts, Harbaugh said it was that type of game.
Didn’t want to comment on penalties until he sees them over again.— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) January 28, 2024
Baltimore only rushed the ball 16 times against the Chiefs but averaged over five yards per carry. In their defense, they did trail for the majority of the game. However, it wasn’t by such an insurmountable deficit that they would’ve had to completely abandon their run game.
Even then, the Ravens still had their chances. The defense played Kansas City pretty well in the second half and the offense was able to make some big plays through the air (and hurt themselves with big penalties as well).
All that said, John Harbaugh and Co. are going home and the Chiefs are on to their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons.
