Baltimore Ravens quarterback was to quick to get illness talk over with in first media appearance.
After missing the first five days of training camp due to illness, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has fully participated in the past two. On Monday, he was made available to media and many asked if Jackson’s better and what he was dealing with. Jackson assured all he’s back to being healthy, but wouldn’t share much else on the topic.
“[I’m] feeling wonderful man. [It’s] good to be back; back out with my guys; back out with the coaching staff – [it’s] good to be back in August man, [it’s] football season,” Jackson said. “I don’t know, I kind of just got a bug – you really never know when a bug [will] hit you. I got hit with a bug, and I’m good now.”
Since rejoining teammates in practice, Jackson has looked, well, wonderful. He’s completed touchdown throws to wide receiver Zay Flowers, tight end Mark Andrews and others. His first day back he completed a simulated fourth-quarter drill in which the offense needed a touchdown in one minute, 20 seconds. It took five completions on six plays for him to put points on the board against a defense that’s punished Ravens quarterbacks when he was out.
Jackson played like he missed camp, and from the sound of it, he surely missed it.
“No, I’m not thinking they’re missing me; I’m missing them,” Jackson said. “I’m trying to get back out to those guys and just be happy around my teammates, that’s all – but them missing me – the kids missing me, I love it; I love it all.”
