Something could be brewing in Baltimore.
Hours before the NFL Draft begins, ESPN’s Jamison Hensley said he received a text message that said, “Good news on the way for the Ravens.”
That could mean anything. Without any additional context, fans are hoping they’re about to extend Lamar Jackson or acquire DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans.
Some Twitter users also had other guesses.
“Could Baltimore be sneaking in news of a big QB contract in the hours before the draft?” ESPN’s Dan Graziano asked.

Fans aren’t going to be happy if the news is related to the draft room’s dinner plans or Baltimore’s mascot. However, it seems likely the source was referring to Jackson.
Shortly after Hensley’s open-ended tweet, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said the Ravens and Jackson have made “major progress” toward a new deal that could happen “very soon.”
