The Arizona Cardinals made a huge splash on Thursday night, trading their first-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and the 100th pick in the draft.
Brown is coming off a career year with the Ravens. During the 2021 season, he hauled in 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
Despite having success in 2021 with the Ravens, Brown ultimately requested a trade this offseason. On Friday, he appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio to explain why he wanted out of Baltimore.
“I love Lamar,” Brown said. “It’s just the system wasn’t for me personally. I love all my teammates. I love the guys. It was just something I had to think about for myself.”

Brown said he’s had talks with Lamar about this the last two seasons.

Brown’s new quarterback, Kyler Murray, is certainly happy about this move. After all, they were teammates together at Oklahoma.
“Let’s run it back,” Murray tweeted. “Hollywood to the desert… Y’all welcome my boy!”
The addition of Brown should help fill the void left behind by Christian Kirk. At the very least, he’ll give the Cardinals a deep threat capable of taking pressure off DeAndre Hopkins.
Additionally, this trade could help out the Cardinals’ negotiations with Murray.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Cardinals’ offense looks like this fall.
