The Baltimore Ravens made a big splash on Tuesday with the signing of running back Derrick Henry.
They agreed to terms on a two-year $16 million deal with Henry and will make their offense even scarier for the 2024 season and beyond.
It has Ravens fans ecstatic for next season and even Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is super excited about it.
“Who has the most rushing yards since 2018? Derrick Henry. Who has the most rushing yards by a QB since 2018? Lamar Jackson. The @Ravens are putting the @NFL on notice today,” Moore tweeted.
Even though Henry is 30, he’s still one of the best running backs in the NFL. He finished the 2023 season with 280 carries for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns.
His best season came in 2020 when he racked up 378 carries for 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns. Overall, he’s compiled 9,502 rushing yards and 90 touchdowns over the last eight seasons.
Teams will now have to prepare for both he and quarterback Lamar Jackson on the ground. The Ravens are shaping up to have one of the best offenses in the league once again.
