Three months ago Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was reportedly “under investigation” for an alleged domestic assault. While he was never charged, the NFL has taken a while to conduct their own investigation. Now the league has reached a decision.
In a statement, the league announced that there will be no action taken against Flowers. The league said that there was insufficient evidence to confirm that he had violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
“Following a review, the NFL concluded there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that Zay Flowers engaged in any activity that violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” the league said, via NFL insider Tom Pelissero. “There will be no action taken by the league and Flowers remains eligible to participate in all team activities.”
Police suspended the investigation into the assault in February after the victim said that there were “no further issues” and that Flowers would not be scheduling a meeting with them.
Flowers was the Ravens’ first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He went on to lead the team with 77 receptions for 858 yards and five touchdowns while quarterback Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP award.
With Flowers avoiding punishment from the league, he’ll be able to enjoy the start of the 2024 season without anything hanging over his head.
