Four quarterbacks are set to start in Sunday’s Conference Championship Weekend. Three of them are earning a 10-digit salary this season while the fourth isn’t even making a million.
According to Spotrac, the AFC Championship Game between Lamar Jackson’s Ravens and Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs will see $139.35 million in quarterback salaries on the field. Jackson is earning $80 million this year while Mahomes is earning $59.35 million.
Over in the NFC Championship Game, Lions quarterback Jared Goff is making a cool $25.975 million as their starter. As for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, he’s making a comparatively small $870,000 this year.
Purdy is still playing on his rookie contract as the final pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has two years left on his contract but won’t be earning over $1 million until the final year of the deal.

Of course, a contract extension – and a lucrative one at that – appears inevitable if not downright imminent. Brock Purdy has exceeded every expectation of any player drafted as low as he was, let alone for a player who has taken the team to two straight NFC Championship Games.
Purdy will be joining Jackson, Mahomes and Goff in the 10-digit quarterback salary tier in short order.
