The Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce likes post on Instagram which is fueling trade candidate wide receiver Davante Adams. According to a report, Pierce was active on social media last night where he liked a video from Sports Illustrated’s post about Adams may have played his last snap with the Raiders. Adams has been the subject of trade rumors all offseason and it’s not going away since they don’t look like contenders again this year. Pierce’s like is no longer there but that could speculate that he’s in favor of unloading on the superstar receiver to receive some draft capital to build for the future.
Las Vegas knows they’re not going anywhere despite winning in week four against the Browns. Adams was not a healthy scratch and sat on the bench for that game so if the Raiders continue to struggle, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if he requests a trade. There’s no doubt that many rosters looking to bolster their wide receiver corps will be requesting his services. Adams may be under contract until 2026 but it doesn’t mean the Raiders won’t consider trading him since they don’t have anything to lose.
Las Vegas may probably ask for a first-round pick in return for Adams which may complicate some things. However, if Adams decides to hold out this season because of the losing record, he should be in a new uniform by the NFL trade deadline next month. Adam Schefter reports that Adams doesn’t look to move on and denies any possibility of it happening. You never know what could happen in the next few weeks, he could be a favorable target and if he gets interest then the Raiders should become sellers if they fall out of the playoff picture.

Potential Trade Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes needs all the help he can get after losing Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice in one season. Rice may be getting a second opinion but he’s still missing significant time which could disrupt the chemistry of this offense. Kansas City has been average at best with four close contests where they’ve relied on their defense to hold the opposing team to give Mahomes chances. Travis Kelce is on one of the worst starts in recent memory and his age could be getting to him after retirement speculation this past offseason.
However, the Chiefs could replenish their offense by adding Adams to help Xavier Worthy in the deep threat. He would become the No. 1 receiver, get all the attention, and possibly win his first ring.
New Orleans Saints
There was hope in New Orleans after their first two blowout wins but things are slowing down. The past two games showed the Saints need an extra third man on the receiving end to catch footballs. Adams would be better than Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed combined. It would also allow Derek Carr to have no excuses and bring the Saints competitive this season again.
Baltimore Ravens
After praising Lamar Jackson, the Ravens could look to add some more firepower ahead of Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor. Flowers becomes their only consistent receiver no matter the situation so it might open up the Ravens’ thinking of trading for a wideout that has a replica of that. Adams would become their top option and No. 1 receiver since they don’t have a lot of big bodies on the receiving corps. He might be the missing element for Baltimore to be a Super Bowl team.
Los Angeles Chargers
Jim Harbaugh must understand that Justin Herbert thrives when he’s throwing the football. You can’t run the ball forever so the idea of trading Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer in exchange for Adams doesn’t sound bad. Las Vegas is already on the horizon of rebuilding so they could build off two receivers while Los Angeles gets a superstar. This would allow Ladd McConkey to focus on the slant routes after showing promise all offseason including this 2024 campaign.
Carolina Panthers
Carolina continues to crumble even after benching Bryce Young. The defense lost Shaq Thompson after losing Derrick Brown this year so they might be better off bolstering their offense. The Panthers were hoping Andy Dalton would give the team some consecutive wins but that isn’t happening after their loss against the Bengals. Adam Thielen is on IR and Diontae Johnson could be waving goodbye after this year so this would allow Adams to take the spotlight and start new.
