Isaiah Likely shows his stuff. Outside linebacker David Ojabo impresses as he ramps up.e linebacker David
A welcome overcast cooled the Ravens’ fourth-straight padded practice. But the cooling breeze didn’t chill the on-field competition. Rather, the Ravens continued their physical battles in scrimmages and drills. Here are my latest observations

Mark Andrews Delivers Big Practice
On Monday, tight end Isaiah Likely delivered multiple big plays, touchdown grabs and caught nearly anything thrown his direction. Today, Andrews came up as the biggest playmaker on offense. Andrews reeled in one of the best receptions of camp as he made a leaping, full-extension grab on a back-pedaling Lamar Jackson throw with pass-rushers bearing down on him.

Andrews also caught a ball in-stride with room to run, and when cornerback Marlon Humphrey caught up to him, Andrews delivered stiff-arms repeatedly to keep Humphrey away and tack on extra yardage.
Though Likely is new and exciting and should be another staple of the offense, Andrews’ production in today’s practice is a reminder of the damage he can deliver to opposing defenses.
Big Play Highlights
- Running back Owen Wright ripped off a massive run up the middle with only safety Beau Brade to beat. Wright flew out of the gap like a bullet and with a full head of steam, it’s hard to know if Brade makes that tackle and slows Wright down in time.
- Tight end Qadir Ismail caught a lob ball from Josh Johnson for a good 17-yard gain and had room to run after the catch.
- Defesnive lineman Josh Tupou generated quick, smothering pressure on quarterback Emory Jones during a two-minute drill.
- Lamar Jackson found wide receiver Zay Flowers for a 20-yard gain after scrambling away from pressure during a two-minute drill.
- Linebacker Trenton Simpson managed to get a hand on a ball thrown to Mark Andrews during two-minute drills. The only blemish on Andrews’ big day.
- During red zone 11-on-11 drills, cornerback Nate Wiggins nearly had a 100-yard pick six. That was until he dropped the interception as he tried to snag the ball in a dead sprint slashing across the field. Definitely felt like an instance of a player seeing the big play and trying to simultaneously make the grab and go but not securing the ball first. Still, a red zone pass breakup for the rookie was a good play.
- Wiggins also had a pass breakup against wide receiver Nelson Agholor in the red zone drills, brekaing up a Johnson-thrown ball.
- Linebacker Chris Board got the lone interception in today’s practice as Johnson’s delivered a sure strike to wide receiver Dayton Wade. Unfortunately, Wade popped the ball up in the seven-on-seven drills and it fell into the arms of Board who headed back the other way for a would-be defensive touchdown.
False Start Laps
The Ravens instituted a rule this offseason that any player who jumps before the snap runs a lap around the field. Today, five players were flagged for the infraction.
