There was some optimism that Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews would be cleared to play this Saturday against the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, he’s not ready for action just yet.
On Friday, the Ravens decided not to activate Andrews off injured reserve. That means he’ll miss the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
That’s a tough blow for the Ravens, but they do have a serviceable option to fill in for him in Isaiah Likely, who finished the 2023 season with 411 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews (ankle) was not activated off injured reserve, which means he will not play in Saturday’s divisional game against the Texans.
Andrews said if he didn’t play Saturday that he would look toward being ready for the AFC championship game if Ravens advance.

If the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship, there’s a chance Andrews could be activated for that game.
“Knowing how good this team is, how good our players are, how good our tight ends are, if I feel like I’m going to be helpful to the team, I’m going to go,” Andrews said. “If I feel like I’m close but not there, I’m going to let these guys go and hopefully get there next weekend.”
In order for that to happen, the Ravens will need to take care of business this Saturday.
Kickoff for the Texans-Ravens game is at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
