With the Baltimore Ravens’ penchant for seeing their running backs get injured, you’d think they would avoid parting ways with any of the ones on their roster. Nevertheless, one Ravens running back is being released before their playoff run.
On Wednesday, the Ravens announced that they have signed wide receiver Dan Chisena to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, they released third-year running back Jake Funk.
“We have signed WR Dan Chisena to the Practice Squad and released RB Jake Funk,” the team announced.
Funk has played in four games for the Indianapolis Colts this year, getting 38 snaps between offense and special teams. He has three touches for 22 yards on the season.
Funk has not played for the Ravens since joining the team in late-December.

Right now the Ravens’ backfield consists of Gus Edwards, Melvin Gordon and Justice Hill on the active roster with Dalvin Cook and rookie Owen Wright on the practice squad.
Do the Ravens have enough talent in the backfield to make it through the playoffs and potentially reach the Super Bowl?
