The Ravens are in contention for the AFC North and the AFC No. 1 seed. Here’s what they need to go their way
Week 12 of the 2024 NFL regular season is underway and the Ravens are in the thick of chasing the playoffs. They received quite the help on Thursday with the Cleveland Browns defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football, but any and all extra help will due in the race to the playoffs.
Here are the teams you want to root for and against in Week 12.
RAVENS GAME
Baltimore Ravens (7-4) at Los Angeles Chargers (7-3):
The Ravens face a significant test on Monday Night Football against the Chargers and a roster filled with ex-Ravens The Ravens are a bit banged up but a win on Monday could all but confirm a playoff spot with the way the AFC is shaping up. It won’t be an easy win, but the Ravens have the weapons necessary. Root for the Ravens, duh.
BYE WEEK TEAMS
- Atlanta Falcons
- Buffalo Bills
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New Orleans Saints
- New York Jets
AFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
Detroit Lions (9-1) at Indianapolis Colts (5-6): The Lions are an NFC team and they face the Colts, who are still mucking it up in the playoff picture. A win puts them at .500 with five games remaining and are too close for comfort if the Ravens are in a Wild Card race. Root for the Lions.
New England Patriots (3-8) at Miami Dolphins (4-6): Such strange times we live in, wanting the Patriots to drag down the Dolphins, yet here we are. The Dolphins are at their death knell and a loss to the Patriots would be the final blow. Root for the Patriots.
Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) at Carolina Panthers (3-7): The Ravens aren’t in the No. 1 seed race anymore due to their four losses being a couple too many at this juncture. Add on their four losses are to conference foes and the Ravens’ best (and almost only bet) for a home playoff game is the division. Nonetheless, it would be a welcome sight to watch the Chiefs lose back-to-0back games, including one to the bottom-of-the-barrel Panthers. Root for the Panthers.
Tennessee Titans (2-8) at Houston Texans (7-4): The Texans are back on their feet after a win last week and have the same record as the Ravens. These two will have a Christmas matchup weeks down the road and the more they’re down on the standings the better. Root for the Titans.
Denver Broncos (6-5) at Las Vegas Raiders (2-8): The Raiders played spoiler to the Ravens in Week 2 and could do so in an AFC West divisional matchup again this week. The Broncos are well in the thick of playoff contention. Root for the Raiders.
