Charlie Kolar will miss time with a broken arm
The Ravens win on Monday night against the Chargers did not come without cost. Ravens tight end Charlie Kolar is expected to go on Injured Reserve and will miss at least four weeks with a broken arm.

First, hats off to Kolar for gutting it out for an entire quarter with a broken arm. Sometimes we forget as fans how extraordinary these athletes are when the adrenaline is pumping. Second, this is a tough loss for the Ravens. While Kolar doesn’t always show up on the stats sheet, he is a consistent contributor to this offense who sees snaps every game, playing as much as half of the snaps in some games.
Kolar has grown into a run-blocking role and has been significant in drives for the Ravens this season, making the occasional play. While most teams’ third tight end role isn’t massive, the Ravens love to use all their tight ends available and have typically rostered three guys all season in the Lamar Jackson era. The Ravens have Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, and Patrick Ricard on the roster so they don’t need to add somebody, but it sounds like John Harbaugh will look to fill the spot instead of adjusting around the injury.
Harbaugh confirmed that Charlie Kolar has a broken arm.

Zaire Mitchell-Paden is the only tight end on the Ravens’ practice squad after their top choice, Qadir Ismail, son of a former Raven, went on injured reserve. The Ravens also recently worked out and signed Scotty Washington to the practice squad, who was in Baltimore during training camp and spent time on the practice squad last year. Between Mitchell-Paden and Washington, they’ve appeared in one NFL game before.
