The Browns will have quarterback Bailey Zappe start against the Ravens on Saturday
After Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said was not ready to announce a starting quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens earlier on Thursday, Associated Press’ Tom Withers reported the Browns will start quarterback Bailey Zappe.
AP source says Bailey Zappe will start at quarterback for the Browns on Saturday. He’ll be No. 40 since 1999.

Zappe, 25, will be playing in his first game of the 2024 season and his 18th career game. In his career, Zappe has thrown for 2,053 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
The last time he started a game was in 2023 for the New England Patriots against the New York Jets. He finished with 12-of-30 throwing for 88 yards, two interceptions and was sacked seven times. His quarterback rating for the game was a 1.9.
Zappe has never faced the Ravens in his three-year career, but with the Ravens having the AFC North division title and a home playoff game to compete for, it’s hard to imagine they’ll be kind to him.
