The Baltimore Ravens have just boosted their special teams unit in a major way, signing All-Pro kick returner Deonte Harty.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Ravens have signed Harty to a one-year contract.
Harty, 26, started his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints in 2019 as an undrafted free agent. It didn’t take long for him to make an impact.
In 14 games, Harty returned 36 punts for 388 yards and a touchdown. He also had 644 return yards on kickoffs. That production earned him All-Pro honors and a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster.
In 2021, Harty actually played a decent role for the Saints in the passing game. He hauled in 36 passes for 570 yards and three touchdowns.
After the 2022 season, Harty signed a two-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. The hope was that he’d take on a larger role as a wide receiver.
Unfortunately for Harty, he never really took that leap in Buffalo. He did, however, have 150 receiving yards and two total touchdowns.
Perhaps we’ll see Harty reach his full potential in Baltimore.
