The Baltimore Ravens recently made a call to inquire about one of the best players in the NFL.
Per Jason La Canfora, the Ravens recently called the San Francisco 49ers to ask about wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The 49ers said no since he’s one of their best players.
They also don’t want $21 million of dead cap on their payroll for next season.
If this is true, then it shows the Ravens are willing to do anything to improve their chances of winning a Super Bowl. They got to the AFC Championship Game this past season but fell to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Samuel would make their offense even deadlier, especially after the recent signing of running back Derrick Henry. Having those two, along with Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews on the field simultaneously wouldn’t be fair.
Luckily for other NFL teams, they won’t have to worry about that unless the 49ers change their mind.
Samuel was tremendous yet again this past season, finishing with 60 receptions for 892 yards and seven touchdowns. He also compiled 37 rushes for 225 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
