Three-time Pro Bowler wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could be back in the league in no time following Zay Flowers scary injury. According to sources, the Baltimore Ravens will probably be without their No. 1 receiver for at least the wild card matchup after suffering a knee injury in a win against the Browns. The team has already punched their ticket, clinching the AFC North and a home playoff game. However, the Ravens will be paying a temporary fine that may cost them in the postseason if Flowers doesn’t come back the same.
It’s safe to say this injury is probably not severe but it is enough for Baltimore to possibly make an immediate move on offense. After waiving Diontae Johnson, the Ravens have yet to find a wideout that is capable of replicating the success that Rashod Bateman and Flowers have had driving the ball in yardage. Baltimore must put quarterback Lamar Jackson in the best position no matter who they face in the wild-card round. The competition will only increase but one phone call to a former teammate could increase their odds and boost their chemistry.

The Return of OBJ?
It’s easy to see why the Baltimore Ravens would bring back Beckham in the lineup. After releasing him this past offseason, the team hasn’t found a replacement so a reunion wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. Let’s get this straight, Beckham is no Zay Flowers nor will he be a full-time starter in the league anymore. However, his addition to the roster could be effective to make this offense comfortable to keep driving the ball in the aerial attack.
Assuming Flowers’ injury, the Ravens should play it safe this upcoming wild card and sign Beckham to a temporary deal. He won’t be the perfect fix but this would make sense for both sides considering the minimal success Beckham had in Miami.
Other Contender Fits
Kansas City Chiefs
While the Kansas City Chiefs are increasingly getting better as time flies by, they could use another wide receiver in the backend. Since losing Rashee Rice to a season-ending injury, the Chiefs have lost their footing in their speed and have been dependent on a receiver’s hands to catch the ball deep down the field. The good news is that Kansas City still has DeAndre Hopkins following an investment trade earlier this season and Marquise Brown back from an injury of his own.
Rookie Xavier Worthy is still going through growing pains so they should bring in a man like Beckham to provide some reinforcements.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have plenty of bright spots for the longevity of this organization under head coach Jim Harbaugh. However, no one should anticipate the team to go on a deep playoff run considering the weapons Justin Herbert has barring any miracle. Quentin Johnston has his moments but is still inconsistent while rookie Ladd McConkey is probably the only long-term weapon to keep around. Joshua Palmer is the lone man to replicate moving the ball but one athlete can’t do it all alone if they want a chance against a competitive AFC.
Beckham won’t be full-time but he could save the Chargers by giving this team more experience in the receiving corps.
