Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith will not play against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering an ankle sprain in Week 10.
With 2:16 left to play in the Washington Commanders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game on Sunday, edge rusher Alex Highsmith suffered an ankle injury that officially rules him out against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. As he pressured Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and notched his eighth quarterback hit this season, he landed on his ankle.

After the game, Highsmith was seen in a walking boot and today, Head Coach Mike Tomlin announced that while the injury isn’t season-ending, Highsmith will miss Sunday’s game against the Ravens and he’ll be week-to-week.
The loss of Highsmith is significant for the Steelers as he’s produced another impact season. This season, Highsmith’s totaled 24 quarterback pressures and grades out as the No. 10 pass rusher according to PFF, near the likes of San Francisco 49ers’ Nick Bosa, Jacksonville Jaguars’ Josh Hines-Allen and ahead of Los Angeles Chargers’ Khalil Mack.
Fortunately for the Steelers, they did execute a trade for Green Bay Packers’ Preston Smith before the trade deadline, which helps to bolster their pass rushers opposite T.J. Watt.
