The Washington Commanders are heading to the NFC championship game. On Saturday, the Commanders shocked almost everyone, defeating the Detroit Lions 45-31 to advance to their first NFC title game in 33 years.
Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels was phenomenal, but he had plenty of help. The Commanders won the turnover battle (5-0) against the league’s top offense. Brian Robinson Jr. paced a running attack with 182 yards on the ground and three touchdowns; Terry McLaurin and Dyami Brown combined for nine receptions and 185 yards, and Washington’s offensive line did not allow a sack.
It was a terrific all-around performance from the Commanders, who will now watch Sunday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams to see where they’re going next.
Here are five takeaways from Washington’s win.
