A very interesting landing spot has emerged for soon-to-be unrestricted free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
NFL insider Jeremy Fowler recently reported OBJ is expected to receive strong interest this offseason. That’s despite suffering what’s believed to be a torn ACL during Super Bowl LVI.
In the event Beckham recovers and plays next season, where will he end up? Fowler believes the Kansas City Chiefs make the most sense.
“The Chiefs were in on Beckham during his midseason free-agency tour,” Fowler wrote for ESPN.com, via NESN.com. “He has to sign with a contender with high-level quarterback play, and Kansas City needs juice opposite Tyreek Hill. Plus, tight end Travis Kelce turns 33 in October. But any team interested would have to consider the injury history after Beckham suffered an injury to his left knee in the Super Bowl.”
With that being said, it’s also plausible Beckham returns to Los Angeles.
ESPN’s Matt Bowen noted it’s entirely plausible Beckham wants to play for the Rams next season. But he may have more success in the Chiefs’ passing game.
“Beckham could very well return to Los Angeles, where he certainly fits well,” Bowen wrote. “But we like Beckham in the Chiefs’ pass-game structure as a viable No. 3 target for Patrick Mahomes. A nuanced and savvy route runner, Beckham can win isolation matchups or be schemed as a catch-and-run option on the leveled concepts in the Kansas City playbook.”
Should OBJ stick it out in Los Angeles? Or should he sign with the Chiefs, if offered?
Beckham’s pending free agency will no doubt garner plenty of attention this offseason.
