The Buffalo Bills were one overtime victory away from the AFC Championship this year. So, what could help them get over the hump in 2022?
According to Bills general manager Brandon Beane, protecting superstar quarterback Josh Allen is priority No. 1.
Beane and the Buffalo front office plan to use the 2022 free-agent market and draft to bolster the team’s offensive line.
“First thing, I’m going to try and protect him,” Beane said, per the team’s website. “As I said earlier, I have to make sure the o-line is set and that we’re confident in them. But beyond that, always looking for the various pieces.”
With Allen under center, the Bills hope to contend for multiple Super Bowl titles over the next few years. And with Joe Burrow taking a Super-Bowl-record seven sacks in this year’s loss, front-line protection is no doubt at the forefront of executive minds around the league.
Allen has taken more than 25 sacks in each of his four NFL seasons. This year, he tied a career-low with 26 and logged a career-low sack percentage of 3.9.
The Bills have the No. 25 overall pick in this year’s draft.
