Odell Beckham Jr. finally won a Super Bowl, but it appears to have come at an extreme cost.
During Super Bowl 56 on Sunday night, OBJ planted awkwardly when trying to make a catch and fell to the turf. He had to leave the game because of an apparent knee injury and was unable to return. The former superstar was later seen in street clothes on the sideline with what appeared to be tears in his eyes.
The good news is the Rams gutted out a 23-20 victory and OBJ can now call himself a championship. The bad news, however, is that Beckham may have a long road to recovery ahead of him.
Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Beckham is “believed” to have torn his ACL.
“#Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr is believed to have torn his ACL in last night’s Super Bowl win, source said,” Rapoport tweeted. “That means a long road of recovery for the free agent, who has a challenge to be ready for 2022. Beckham had 2 catches for 52 yards, 1 TD and 1 moonwalk before the injury.”

This is pretty awful timing for Odell Beckham Jr., who’s set to become a free agent this offseason. He’s going to have a tough time garnering interest.
It’s plausible the best path forward for OBJ is to wait to sign with a team until his recovery is complete. That recovery could last until in the midst of next season.
We wish Beckham all the best in what’s expected to be another long road to recovery.
