Sheena Quick joined Trap or Dive to provide insight on former Panthers Frankie Luvu and Jeremy Chinn
The Commanders have a log jam at the safety position heading into training camp. One of the new safeties, Jeremy Chinn, is escaping somewhat of a tumultuous finish to his time with the Carolina Panthers. He took a one-year deal in Washington under new head coach Dan Quinn, presumably hoping for stability and that Washington’s coaching staff would understand where his best fit is on the field. Chinn still has to do better on the field, too, as it was never all on the Panthers staff as to why things went downhill for him in Carolina. Sheena Quick, a Panthers beat reporter for 1340 FoxSports Radio, joined the Trap or Podcast to discuss how his last season went with Carolina. Quick acknowledged that Chinn did not fit in Panthers DC Ejiro Evero’s defense last year but has never been strong in coverage. Some of Chinn’s struggles also contributed to the significant drop in his snap percentage with the Panthers.
This position group battle will be one of the biggest ones to watch come training camp. Who will emerge?
