The University of Michigan football program announced some special news for its spring game on Wednesday night.
Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who played for Jim Harbaugh on the San Francisco 49ers, will be honored at the spring game.
Kaepernick will serve as the Wolverines’ honorary team captain.
Michigan announced the big news on Wednesday night.
“Football Family. Excited to share the field with our honorary captain for Saturday’s Maize and Blue Spring Game, Colin Kaepernick,” the Wolverines tweeted.

Kaepernick, who last played in the NFL in 2016, has been eyeing a professional comeback this year.
The former 49ers quarterback has been linked to a couple of different teams, but so far, nothing has progressed.
