Tuesday was cutdown day around the NFL. Every NFL team had until 4 p.m. ET to trim their roster to 53 players. Cutdown day is always the most difficult day on the NFL calendar, as it’s the end of the line for many young players around the league.
The Washington Commanders finalized their 53-man roster — at least for now. The Commanders kept rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. on the roster instead of placing him on the non-football injury (NFI) list after he suffered gunshot wounds on Sunday in an attempted robbery. The move meant keeping an extra running back for the Commanders.
