Last night, the Dallas Cowboys selected Tulsa offensive tackle Tyler Smith with the 24th overall pick in the draft.
Many fans and analysts were thrown off by this decision, citing Smith’s unpolished game and propensity for holding penalties as reasons why the Cowboys should have gone another direction.
But during his introductory press conference on Friday, Smith said he’s ignoring what the media has to say about him.
“I stay away from the media. Everybody has an opinion. It’s like buttholes, everybody has one,” he said.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and the rest of the room reacted as though they’d never heard this popular saying before. McCarthy’s face was struck by a look of shock before it quickly turned to laughter.
“That was a good one,” McCarthy said.
#Cowboys first-round OT Tyler Smith just dropped a doozy of a quote when asked if he pays attention to what people write about him.

Though he played tackle throughout his collegiate career, Smith is expected to begin his NFL career at the guard position.
The Cowboys will make their next selection with the No. 56 overall pick in tonight’s second round.
