Chael Sonnen is facing charges in a Las Vegas brawl for an incident that happened late last year, but he reportedly doesn’t remember anything.
He was charged earlier this month with one felony count of battery by strangulation and 10 misdemeanor counts of battery, per FoxNews. Sonnen allegedly attacked at least five people on Dec. 18 at a Vegas hotel.
This past Friday, a lawsuit was filed against Sonnen. He’s accused of choking Chris Stellpflug and then his wife Julie told police that he threw her against a light fixture and punched her.
He was originally charged with five counts of battery before those were dismissed and then new charges came in.
Sonnen had a record of 29-15-1 record in UFC before he retired in 2019. He lost to Lyoto Machida at Bellator 222 in a second-round TKO (knockout).
Since he stopped fighting, he’s been an analyst at ESPN but he won’t appear on the network moving forward due to these charges.
