A film session breaking down the Commanders defense against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Commanders’ defense continues to surge in the right direction after another exceptional outing, the latest coming against the Philadelphia Eagles. My sentiments may be an unpopular opinion, but the defensive line from the first level to the third played disciplined and physical from start to finish. This unit’s unfortunate yet honest problem is their inability to play a full sixty seconds, as they have been unable to put the team on their back the last two weeks to win games for Washington. Should it be expected, knowing that the Commanders possess a top-five scoring offense that is sixth in yards per game? No. Washington’s offense has closed teams out for most of the season. Unfortunately, over the last two games, Washington’s offense has averaged 253 yards per game, nine of 26 on third downs, eight three-and-outs, and losing the time of possession battles. The offense has failed a stellar defense that has done its best to provide as many opportunities to its offense as possible.
In this Trap or Dive film session, I broke down the Commander’s offensive and defensive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles. I highlighted why I believe the defense is trending in the right direction with the help of several standouts.
