Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean was initially projected to be a first-round pick in this year’s draft. For some reason, he’s still on the board with the third round about to begin.
Unsurprisingly, football fans around the country are surprised that Dean continues to slide down the board.
“Either Nakobe Dean has horrible medicals or is a serial killer,” ESPN analyst Matt Miller’s source told him. “I just don’t get it.”

“What the hell is going on with Nakobe Dean? This is bonkers,” Matt Verderame of FanSided said.

“Some team is going to draft Nakobe Dean and get a player who should be top 10,” Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports tweeted.

In his final season of college football, Dean had 72 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, five pass breakups, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
We’d imagine Dean will use his draft-day slide as motivation. Let’s not forget that he came into this draft process with a chip on his shoulder.
“This whole process has done nothing but make the chip on my shoulder bigger,” Dean told The Spun in an interview earlier this month. “I plan on working hard and showing the world who I am.”
If Dean can stay healthy, he could end up being the steal of the draft.
