As it stands right now, the Carolina Panthers don’t have any second or third-round selections in this year’s draft.
But, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Panthers could trade up into tonight’s second round to pursue one of the top quarterback options in this year’s draft pool.
“[The Panthers] are gonna come away this offseason — today, tomorrow, a couple weeks from now — with a quarterback,” Rapoport said. “… They could trade back into the second round today to get a quarterback.”
Rapoport suggested one QB in particular who the Panthers were eyeing with their No. 6 pick last night.
“I know they like several of the guys still on the board. I know they considered some of those guys at No. 6,” he added. “Matt Corral is somebody whose film they really love.”
He also suggested Liberty QB Malik Willis and North Carolina signal caller Sam Howell as potential options for the Panthers.

As a four-year man for the Ole Miss Rebels, Corral could come in as an instant solution for the Panthers’ quarterback issues. Through 37 game appearances at the collegiate level, the 23-year-old QB logged 8,287 yards and 57 touchdowns on a 67.3 completion percentage.
If the Panthers trade up to take a QB like Corral, the likelihood of the organization adding Baker Mayfield by way of trade would drop close to zero.
What direction do you think the Panthers should go in?
