The Washington Commanders were back on the practice field for Day 2 of training camp on Thursday. For the second consecutive day, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and veteran Marcus Mariota rotated with the starters, with Mariota receiving most of the first-team work.
Daniels was the better of the two on Day 1 of camp, and that trend continued on Thursday. Daniels made several impressive throws on the day that, if there were a crowd, would’ve drawn applause. Head coach Dan Quinn spoke about Daniels before Thursday’s practice, noting how he believed Daniels had a “really strong day” on the first day of camp.
Quinn also praised Daniels’ footwork, which is always a work in progress for quarterbacks.
Daniels has spread the ball around but already seems to have formed a strong rapport with wide receiver Jahan Dotson and running back Brian Robinson Jr.
It’s time for our daily look at Daniels from those in attendance on Day 2 of Washington’s training camp.
