Earlier this week, the basketball world learned that Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was battling through a torn ligament in his finger.
Embiid was able to play through the pain as the 76ers closed out the Toronto Raptors. However, him being on the court came with a stiff price.
According to a report from NBA insider Shams Charania, Embiid suffered a broken orbital bone. As a result, there is no timetable for when he might return to the team.
“76ers All-NBA star Joel Embiid suffered a right orbital fracture and mild concussion in series-clinching Game 6 win last night in Toronto,” Charania reported. “He will be listed as out and there is no timetable for his return.”
Fans were crushed by the news – and made it clear they weren’t happy with the 76ers coaching staff. The injury happened with just four minutes left in the fourth quarter of a game the 76ers were dominating.
