After not hearing his name called in Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft, Liberty quarterback Malik Willis is widely expected to be called early in Round 2 tonight.
According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been getting calls to trade up to the 33rd overall pick. But they are not expected to move from that spot.
Fowler said that he has spoken to several NFL teams though. From his investigation, he believes that Willis will go in the first five picks of the second round.
Several teams that could be in the market for a quarterback are among those first five picks. The Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and Houston Texans all pick after the Bucs.
But all four of them could trade down too…
While #Bucs are getting calls on the 33rd pick, there are multiple players they like at that spot and very well could stay put.
Talked to a few teams who think Malik Willis should go in first five pick of 2nd round.

The Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints and Washington Commanders could be eyeing Malik Willis a value pick in the second round. If any of them step up into one of those first five picks, we can probably assume it’s for Willis.
Despite all of the trades we had in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, none of them traded up for a quarterback. Kenny Pickett was taken 20th – the lowest a first quarterback went off the board in 25 years.
We could just be in one of those years where either no one needs a quarterback or is willing to take a risk to get one.
The good news though: There won’t be any pressure on Malik Willis to succeed right away.
