Washington hosts Carolina
Week 7 of the 2024/25 NFL season opened with an AFC vs NFC beatdown of the New Orleans Saints by the Denver Broncos. Washington is 4-2 after losing 30-23 to the Ravens in Baltimore. The Commanders return home to Northwest Stadium this week to host the Carolina Panthers for their homecoming game. Washington opened as 7.5 point favorites, and that line has moved two points in their favor to 9.5. The Over/Under held steady at 51.5.
The Panthers come into this game with a 1-5 record. They have already benched former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young, and have been starting veteran QB Andy Dalton. Every loss this season has been by 10+ points, and most of them have been by 18+. This is not a good team, and they are coming in as big road underdogs.
Jayden Daniels faced his biggest test last week against the Ravens defense, and he was able to adjust and still have a good game despite the final score. He will have Brian Robinson back in the offense today, which should open things up for everybody. Washington’s defense is down a few players after last week, and players like rookie DT Johnny Newton will have to step up in place of Jonathan Allen.
