With the second round of the NFL Draft less than two hours away from starting, Liberty quarterback Malik Willis is widely regarded as the top prospect available.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently named the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings as potential suitors for Willis.
Well, it appears we can add at least one more team to the mix. There are rumors circulating about the New York Giants potentially drafting Willis, per SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano.
“I wouldn’t be shocked if the Giants take a QB tonight, but I don’t expect it and would think Round 3 would be more likely if they do,” Vacchiano said. “Still, these Malik Willis to the Giants rumors have been wild all day. I think they’d have to move up to get him, which would be really crazy.”

The Giants recently declined Daniel Jones’ fifth-year option for the 2023 season. Perhaps they’ll take a chance on Willis and hope he develops into a franchise quarterback.
Despite these rumors, Vacchiano believes the Giants will most likely address another position with their second-round pick.
“If I had to guess right now, I’d think the Giants’ second-round pick will be someone who can protect the QB they have, not replace him,” Vacchiano tweeted. “Either that or a cornerback.”
The expectation at this moment is that Willis will come off the board very early this Friday night.
