Even though the 2021 NFL season ended less than 48 hours ago, you can already wager money on who will take home the MVP award in 2022.
Caesars Sportsbook has revealed opening odds for the 2022 NFL MVP race, and two players are the early co-favorites: Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has won the last two MVP awards, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who earned the honor in 2018.
There is still uncertainty about where Rodgers will play next season, but both he and Mahomes are currently +700 to win MVP. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is right behind them at +900, followed by Joe Burrow (+1200) and Justin Herbert (+1400).
Also, you can bet on Tom Brady at +4500, even though he is technically retired from football.
“In case the greatest of all time decides retirement is not as fun as it sounds and the call to NFL returns, we are putting Tom Brady up at 45-1 in honor of his age,” Caesars’ director of trading Craig Mucklow told ESPN. “And in a gesture of faith to our customers, if he doesn’t take a snap all season, we will refund the bets.”
Rodgers and Mahomes have combined to win three of the last four MVPS. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, the other winner during that timeframe, is +2200 to win MVP in 2022.
Meanwhile, Titans running back Derrick Henry has the best non-QB odds at +1800.
