On Thursday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Travon Walker with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. Moments after the pick was made, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport had some scary news to share with the public.
Walker was reportedly involved in a serious car accident before the draft. It’s unclear exactly when this accident occurred.
“A big-time scare before the Draft: Georgia’s Travon Walker was in a serious car accident in Athens, GA before the draft, crashing into two parked cars, per me and Tom Pelissero. He emerged without injuries somehow. No citations. But a scare for sure,” Rapoport tweeted.
The reactions to this news are mostly negative.
Some are worried about Walker’s health, while others are questioning the timing of this report.
“These are the kind of stories that really help to calm down a fan base that generally has pessimism coming out of the ears,” one fan said.

“Kinda convenient this unofficially/officially comes out AFTER he’s been selected,” another fan wrote.
Two immediate thoughts:
1) Kinda convenient this unofficially/officially comes out AFTER he’s been selected.
2) Would be sorta hilarious and kinda fitting if the other 31 teams had intel on this (hard to imagine they wouldn’t) and the Jaguars did not. https://t.co/S9H791dQl9

Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like Walker suffered any injuries in this accident.
We’d imagine more updates will be available on this situation at a later date.
