Major League Baseball had an announcement to share this Friday afternoon regarding Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer. The former Cy Young winner has been suspended for 324 games.
Bauer was suspended without pay for “violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.”
After the MLB announced a two-year suspension for Bauer, the right-hander released a statement on social media. He will appeal the league’s suspension.
“In the strongest possible terms, I deny committing any violation of the league’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy,” Bauer wrote. “I am appealing this action and expect to prevail. As we have throughout this process, my representatives and I respect the confidentiality of the proceedings.”

Even though Bauer has been on administrative leave since July 2021, all that time he missed doesn’t factor into his current suspension.
Bauer last pitched for the Dodgers on June 28, 2021.
The Dodgers signed Bauer to a three-year, $102 million contract before the 2021 season. In 17 games with the Dodgers, he had an 8-5 record with a 2.59 ERA.
The MLB has made it clear that it cannot issue any further statements about Bauer’s situation at this time.
