Wednesday was a day of giving for the Washington Commanders. Owner Josh Harris’ wife, Marjorie, Chair of the Washington Commanders Foundation, team president Jason Wright, other team executives, some franchise legends, and the 2024 rookie class hosted a Day of Service at three locations across Washington, D.C.
“The Washington Commanders Day of Service is an extension of our values as an organization and what it means to be a positive and productive member of this community,” said Marjorie Harris, according to the team’s official website. “Days like today are about showing up for a community that has given so much to this franchise while also getting a better understanding of how we as an organization can make a difference year-round.”
The first stop was a skills and drills youth football clinic at H.D. Woodson High School (Ward 7), run by the legends. The clinic gave the community a chance to meet some of the franchise’s former stars. Next was a stop at the National Children’s Museum, where they unveiled plans for the “Commanders Little Combine.”
The final stop was Rocketship Rise Academy Public Charter School, where Mrs. Harris was joined by the rookie class and legends such as Santana Moss, Doc Walker, Fred Smoot, and others. Mrs. Harris and the rookies spent valuable time with the children, some of it captured by those in attendance.
