The Washington Commanders travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Thursday Night Football. Washington is managing two key injuries. This is a massive NFC East matchup that will likely determine the winner of the division.
Washington Commanders Injury Updates
The Commanders travel to Philadelphia nursing injuries to two key players. One of these players will suit up tonight, but the other will miss this matchup. Starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. will make his return to the Commanders offense tonight. Robinson has become an essential piece in the Commanders offense. Known for his physical, downhill running style, Robinson has tremendous ability this season. He is averaging 4.6 yards per carry this season. Robinson has also scored six touchdowns in seven games. Washington has formed a top offensive unit this season around rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Robinson has consistently been effective in short yardage situations, consistently keeping the Commanders offense on the field. The running game will be key for Washington tonight against the Eagles. Controlling time of possession and keeping the Eagles offense off the field could be a key to winning this game.
Commanders Cornerback Ruled Out
Meanwhile, cornerback Marshon Lattimore will miss tonight’s game for Washington. His absence could be detrimental to the Commanders defense as they take on a high powered Eagles offense full of weapons. Receivers A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith will look to take advantage of the Commanders secondary without Lattimore. Although Washington has posted a formidable pass defense so far, Lattimore would have been a great player to have back as Philadelphia has two elite receivers on the outside.
How This Impacts The Game
Overall, Robinson’s presence and Lattimore’s absence will very likely have an impact on tonights matchup. For the Commanders, maximizing Robinson’s impact against Philadelphia’s defense will be a key to winning this game. For Philadelphia, attacking the Commanders secondary without Lattimore could be a focus for this offense. Philadelphia will surely be rocking tonight.
